Airfield-Riverfront

Our Story:

We met working in the Space Shuttle program at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in the early 1990s.  Brad was a mechanical engineer working as a life support systems engineer, and Erin was a level III/II mechanical & electronics technician.  Erin, originally from Cincinnati, OH enlisted in the Air Force shortly after graduation and spent 5 years working on F-16 avionics before joining the team at the Kennedy Space Center.

One evening on a second shift assignment, Erin was assigned to a job where Brad was the engineer in charge, and that was the beginning of their 30+ years together sharing their passion for all things aeronautical, and is the inspiration behind the Airfield-Riverfront theme!

We were lucky enough to be introduced to the quaint town of Augusta in 2008 when our kids were 4 & 5 years old when we purchased a bungalow on E 2nd street from Erin’s older brother Mike.  Erin and the kids spent the summers in Augusta for many years exploring, kayaking in Bracken Creek, fishing from the river bank, feeding and raising the local ducks, attending the Lucky K’s 4-H horse camps, swimming at the Augusta pool, riding the Jenny Ann ferry from downtown across to Ohio and back, and attending all of the local summer festivals and events.

We moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 2013 and as a result sold the bungalow, but always knew we’d be back some day.  In the summer of 2022 the A-frame that is now the Airfield-Riverfront came on the market and we jumped at the opportunity to reestablish a presence in Augusta.  We spent a year renovating the A-frame into the Airfield-Riverfront as it is today, and are excited to share it with you!

Our rustic A-frame has been updated and modernized for your ultimate vacation experience. Located directly on 2 lots on the Ohio River, it offers a spectacular unobstructed view of the river. Our house offers 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms – comfortably sleeps 6 in the beds provided.
